The badger is a compact, stocky, marten with a slender head, a trunk-like snout and powerful paws.

Characteristic of the badger is the black and white drawing of the head. This is mainly white, including the lips and chin. From the corners of the mouth, however, stretch first straight upwards and then black stripes on both sides of the snout backwards and widening over the eyes and the white-edged ears to the nape, where they become lighter and run into the silvery gray of the top and the flanks.
